Micro-credentials are a natural extension of the formal and informal learning activities educators engage in every day. Digital Promise has built an ecosystem of micro-credentials in partnership with issuers, earners, and recognizers to personalize learning for educators. These micro-credentials are competency-based, on-demand, personalized, and shareable. They empower educators to drive their professional learning and give administrators the tools they need to personalize learning for their educators and meet their broader goals. Digital Promise is working with states, districts, schools, and educators to implement and build incentive structures for micro-credentials.

Technology—in close partnership with educators—should be leveraged to make possible new opportunities for learning that also improve achievement. By analyzing specific student data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intelligent Advice (IA) have the potential to help more quickly surface specific areas in which students need personalized, “just in time” learning support. To meet the needs of every student, learning needs to be personal and personalized. Unfortunately, many educators struggle to define what “Personalized Learning” means.

If there was ever a perfect time to engage families in study investigations at home, it is now! In this session, facilitated by experts from The Creative Curriculum and ReadyRosie, we will review best practices for individualizing partnerships with each family, consider ways to explain the benefits of project-based learning to families, discuss strategies for sharing family-friendly content with family members, and share ideas for modeling the rich ways play-based learning can inform and empower families’ meaningful interactions with children at home.
