CYPHER LEARNING Releases New Features for LMS Products, Designed to Increase Learner Engagement

CYPHER LEARNING | October 08, 2021

CYPHER LEARNING, a leading provider of learning platforms for schools, universities and organizations around the world, today announced the release of several new features for its suite of learning management systems (LMSs). These additions are designed to make e-learning content even easier to track and consume increasing learner engagement and retention, and optimizing the learning experience.

Relied on by millions of users across more than 20,000 organizations, CYPHER LEARNING is the only company offering platforms in all major e-learning sectors: with NEO LMS for schools and universities, MATRIX LMS for businesses and INDIE LMS for entrepreneurs. The award-winning platforms — recognized for their intuitive interface and user-friendly experience — support more than 40 languages.

Newly released features include:
  • New graphical dashboards for administrators, teachers and students. The dashboards prominently display the most important information for each user type. For example, teachers can instantly see a news widget so they won't miss important class announcements. The dashboards can be customized with welcome banners to give students important information about the course, such as special announcements and instructions. Graphical widgets also make it easy to visualize site and course activity. Users can easily see relevant statistics related to students, grades, course mastery and more — helping them identify, at a glance, who's on track and who may need assistance.
  • Dark mode, which allows all users to switch between "light" and "dark" as the main design style. This addition helps users reduce eye strain, enabling them to use a low-light setting and limit the amount of blue light emitted from their devices whenever they engage with the platforms.
  • Site-wide surveys, enabling administrators to create surveys for a targeted user audience and deploy them to those groups. With this capability, organizations and academic institutions can send surveys that work outside of the scope of a course and gather useful information and feedback from learners and instructors.

In addition, other recently released features for CYPHER LEARNING products include a new learner course dashboard, hotspot question type for assessments and integration with the popular payment service YooMoney.

In order for e-learning content to be effective, it needs to be easy to consume,At CYPHER LEARNING, we're committed to ongoing product innovation — blending cutting-edge capabilities with ease of use, and making our platforms destinations that users want to engage with. As we help companies and educational institutions worldwide improve participation in their online courses, we know that a more appealing interface drives greater engagement.

Jackson College Partners with BibliU to Support Equitable Learning

BibliU | December 02, 2021

Learning Enablement technology provider BibliU has been selected by Jackson College as an integral part of the higher education institution’s commitment to its students. Michigan-based Jackson College was originally founded as Jackson Junior College in 1928. It was chartered as a community college in 1964 and today serves a 41 percent full-time and 59 percent part-time student population. In June 2013, considering the College’s decision to begin development of curriculum for two bachelor degree programs and increased focus on international studies, the name was changed to Jackson College. A campus-wide solution, BibliU Universal Learning enables higher education institutions to lower textbook costs by 30-50 percent while ensuring all students have access to the content they need. Supporting equitable, cost-effective access to required course materials, BibliU’s digital, scalable solution serves all students, regardless of socioeconomic situation. Before choosing BibliU, Jackson College had a long-term relationship with a large campus retailer responsible for its bookstore. Determined to keep the cost of books down, Jackson College tried different models such as purchasing additional books to have available in the library and offering a “rent a book” option. When its campus retailer vendor suggested a digital content solution, it was initially received with enthusiasm until it became apparent that the cost was prohibitive. Left with little choice but to assume direct management of its campus bookstore, Jackson College identified BibliU as an innovative solution provider. Within a six-week period, BibliU was fully implemented. The switch from print textbooks to digital content has been met with enthusiasm, even by faculty in departments such as nursing that tended to favor print instead. Cynthia Allen, Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Jackson College commented, “When we look at partners, we expect them to live our values: integrity, equity and innovation. BibliU has consistently demonstrated this shared vision plus delivered customer success in a tight timeframe that exceeded our expectations.” Jackson College President and CEO, Daniel J. Phelan, said, “We are totally committed to student success, helping them complete their program of study and achieve their goals. Helping our students on that journey includes getting the cost of college under control and ensuring students have the materials they need from day one. The winners here need to be our students and BibliU has proven its understanding of that goal.” “It’s an honor to welcome Jackson College to our growing roster of higher education institutions. Our primary objective is to serve the needs of students, faculty and administrators by providing flexible solutions that can grow as requirements expand. This is a perfect example of how the move from brick-and-mortar to digital provides a solid foundation for growth.” BibliU co-founder and CEO Dave Sherwood About BibliU EdTech innovator BibliU is defining the future of higher education by democratizing content accessibility. Designed to address the unique requirements of students, faculty, libraries, and publishers, BibliU’s learning enablement solution features digital content management, workflow automation, and analytics. Coding Dojo Launches Part-time Online UX/UI Program to Upskill Working Professionals

Coding Dojo | October 13, 2021

Coding Dojo, a global education technology company, announces today the launch of the UX/UI Design Online Part-Time Bootcamp, a flexible, part-time 24-week program designed for working professionals who are looking to gain design skills to upskill or change their career. With hiring for UX jobs up 20% from 2019 to 2020 and Glassdoor naming it to their list of the 50 best jobs to have in 2021, Coding Dojo developed this program to help upskill or reskill workers interested in making a lucrative career change. Course developers at Coding Dojo are keenly aware that the biggest obstacle new designers face is the lack of client experience when looking for their first job. To set students up for long-term success, Coding Dojo is partnering with organizations in-need of design work to build client work directly into the program, so students can work on real-life projects throughout the program to bolster their portfolio upon graduation. "Setting students up for success on day one of their new career is central to all Coding Dojo programs. Throughout the UI/UX program, students will hone their design skills, as well as learning client-facing skills that are essential to working in any design environment, including how to present and defend design decisions, work on a team, give and iterate on feedback, and expand their design vocabulary and communication skills." Richard Wang, CEO of Coding Dojo Throughout the course, students will get comprehensive experience in both UX and UI design processes, including learning research and synthesis techniques for gathering and evaluating quantitative/qualitative data, creating concepts, wireframes and prototypes for live user testing, and crafting high fidelity screens and prototypes for final evaluative tests that are portfolio ready. Students will also graduate from the program with two solid portfolio pieces based on real-world projects that demonstrate problem-solving skills and critical thinking. Registration opens today, October 12, 2021, for the first cohort starting on January 17, 2022. Tuition for the program is $12,745 with financing options available to qualified applicants. Tuition also includes Coding Dojo's industry leading career services including: 1:1 coaching, resume and portfolio preparation, mock interviews, and workshops to help graduates land new jobs in UX/UI design.
