Semrush | February 24, 2022
Semrush, a leading online visibility management SaaS platform, today announces the launch of Semrush for Education. The program is Semrush’s latest initiative to equip tomorrow’s digital marketers with access to its platform as well as a dedicated curriculum designed to jumpstart their careers. The program was designed to connect what’s taught in the classroom with practical, in-the-field knowledge of how top performing digital marketers work today.
Launching initially in the U.S., the program gives college students an opportunity to gain practical and tangible experience using the tools and technology relied on by many of today’s leading brands. Students will get hands-on experience identifying keywords, mastering technical website audits, optimizing for local SEO, and crafting engaging content among many other things.
“At Semrush our goal is to inspire the current and future generations of digital marketers. We believe that with the right access to education as well as the right tools, anyone can become a digital marketing pro. Semrush for Education aims to equip students with practical experience and give them an advantage as they pursue their dreams.”
Andrew Warden, Chief Marketing Officer, Semrush
The demand for digital marketing skills and positions is on the rise. In fact, Semrush data from August 2021-January 2022 revealed a 50% spike (from 5,400 to 8,100) in Google searches in the U.S. for “marketing internships.” By collaborating with professors across different communities, Semrush is committed to providing students access to the resources and experience needed to stand out during the job search process to go from aspiring post-graduate to successful marketing professional.
“There’s a big gap in digital marketing education today. Students need experience and employers want students who can hit the ground running. One problem I’ve noticed is the lack of access to premier digital marketing tools. They are expensive and few offer cost-efficient solutions for students,” said Luke Alley, Professor of Marketing, Brigham Young University. “Semrush is changing that dynamic. They’ve offered free access to the platform for a full semester, educational materials, special lectures, and practical, ‘in-the-field’ digital marketing experience.”
“Education is a core value for our company. We believe education is vital for people at all levels of their careers. It’s the key to building the future of marketing innovation and we are proud to launch this initiative today,” added Warden.
Semrush is a leading online visibility management SaaS platform that enables businesses globally to run search engine optimization, pay-per-click, content, social media and competitive research campaigns and get measurable results from online marketing. Semrush offers insights and solutions for companies to build, manage, and measure campaigns across various marketing channels. Emile Learning | September 03, 2021
Emile Learning, an LA-based education company working to build the 'Netflix of High School', is offering free student access for the month of September.
"We threw all our energy this past year into innovating with this generation of young people in mind," said President and Co-Founder Michael Vilardo. "We think students who try out our product will fall in love with the approach, so much so that they'll continue with Emile well beyond September."
Emile currently offers 20+ AP, Core, and Experiential courses for high schoolers. With September's free access, students will have unlimited access to Emile's entire course library through September 30, 2021. Courses include: AP Computer Science, Introduction to Computer Science, AP Psychology, AP English Language and Literature, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, Algebra 2, AP World History, Acting, Financial Literacy, and several others.
Emile Learning was founded in October 2020 by CEO Felix Ruano, Harvard University/McKinsey & Co. alum, Vilardo, University of Pennsylvannia/Nike/Uber alum, and CTO Jon Quiros, Dun & Bradstreet and Cal Poly Pomona alum.
"We have all seen the impact of TikTok, Netflix, Instagram on Gen-Z attention spans. These companies continue to innovate to stay relevant. Unfortunately, we have not seen that kind of approach in education. Emile is here to change that," said Ruano.
Emile's short-form courses are designed to promote engagement in a digital landscape where scrolling is the norm. By taking best practices from leading consumer technologies and social platforms, Emile is innovating to meet high school students' evolving learning strategies and needs.
Highly-engaging teachers pulled from students' favorite social channels present short-form video content, anchored to key concepts. Quizzes and study-guides reinforce learning. Access to a large online community and a roster of seasoned teachers increases interactivity and feedback. Finally, high schoolers have the option to take the courses purely for enrichment (e.g., to help supplement existing high school coursework) or for transcript-level credit.
