HMH announced that Writable with HMH Into Literature was named 2022 Best Reading/Writing/Literature Instructional Solution for Grades 9-12 as part of the annual SIIA CODiE Awards. This is the second time Writable with HMH Into Literature has earned this CODiE award, demonstrating the solution's remarkable creativity in satisfying students' literacy requirements and preparing them for success.
HMH Into Literature, HMH's core ELA solution for learners in grades 6-12, delivers research-based reading and writing teaching paired with relevant, real literature to guarantee that students develop and strengthen their critical thinking abilities. The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) bestows the CODiE Awards, which recognize excellence in leading technology products and services, on items demonstrating innovation, vision, and overall industry impact. Among the hundreds of applications for this year's CODiE Awards, the HMH-linked solutions Waggle and Amira were also finalists. As a result, the CODiE Awards have established themselves as the most prestigious peer-recognized program in the business and edtech sectors.

Bechtel has donated an additional £50,000 to the Institution of Engineering and Technology for its Launch Scholarship programme in celebration of the company's 70 years in the UK. The Launch Scholarship supports engineering students, degree apprentices, and apprentices who have faced financial challenges or personal obstacles. Bechtel's donation will support at least eleven students every year for the duration of their education. The donation adds to the £680,000 (US$970,000) that Bechtel has gifted to the IET for its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics educational outreach over the past decade."Bechtel has been a valued partner of the IET for almost a decade, including our founding sponsor for the FIRST® LEGO® League, said Sir Julian Young, IET president. Bechtel has supported the IET since 2013, including as a founding supporter of the FIRST® LEGO® League competition that enables young people between the ages of 4-16 years old to develop STEM skills through hands-on learning. Some 100,000 children have participated in the UK program with over 15,500 children participating in 2020-21 competition. In the United States, all public companies are legally required to have a Code of Conduct, a mandate that began with the establishment of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in 2002. Codes of Conduct have become the standard for building ethical workplaces–so much so that even private companies and growing startups develop their own internal Codes.
A Code of Conduct typically encapsulates mission, core values, and culture statements combined with critical rules and regulations–all of which make for a complex, lengthy document. The density of most Codes has made it difficult for compliance professionals to implement effective training, and even harder for employees to retain that content. It is not uncommon for new hires to read the Code during the onboarding process, sign an attestation saying they will follow the rules stated within the document, and then never hear about the Code again.
From public companies to up-and-coming startups, many organizations want to communicate and re-educate employees about the Code over the course of the year, but that has become increasingly difficult with the amount of required training employees receive. As a result, aspects of Code training either get added onto other training initiatives, or just get passed over due to tight budgets and training fatigue.
